New Made Item: This is a fabulous hard to find reproduction! "In September 1944, the aluminum previously used in the manufacture of canteens and cups was replaced with heat-treated lacquered plate, red in color and etched. The finished product consisted of three etched and welded parts. Despite the official date examples can be found from 1943." [Augstin Saiz, Duestsche Soldaten]. IMA has brought the first and only reproduction Model 1944 (M-44) Canteen to the collectors market. Featuring a the correct red lacquer plate 0.75 liter canteen body (be sure to sanitize before drinking), aluminum screw top cap, complete with wool and leather constructed cover featuring correct snaps. Perfect for display or reenactments. Canteen cup and skeletal carrier are not included. Approximate measurements: 9" x 6" x 3"
